Mark 4:30-34

Again He said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”

With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when He was alone with His own disciples, He explained everything.

The kingdom of God begins as a very small part of someone’s life once they have had the word of God planted on them. But as that word is nurtured…it can quickly become the biggest part of their life…as it should. When we truly allow God to change us…it has a great impact on every aspect of our life. When left alone…it remains just a small seed. Let that seed grow within you. May it’s branches be your love, kindness, courage, joy, etc. Let it change every aspect of you. Let the kingdom of God grow wildly in you each day. Then you can provide comfort for those in need…as they seek rest in the branches of your life. It’s a beautiful thing.
