The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and Pharisees went to Pilate. “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’ So give the order for the tomb to be made secure until the third day. Otherwise, his disciples may come and steal the body and tell the people that He has been raised from the dead. This last deception will be worse than the first.”
“Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard.

Matthew made sure that in his Gospel that he made it clear that the only way Jesus was making it out of that tomb was by the power of God. He proved that a body was not stolen…but that Jesus did in fact come back from the dead and walk out of the tomb. Don’t we try to seal things in? We tried to hide our sins and our failures. We try to hide our questions and our doubts. We may be able to seal them away from everyone else…but not God. He knows everything about us. Do you need to open up to some things you have sealed away and tried to burry? Let God carry you through it. Let others share in your burden. Take the weight off of you and finally let go of the things that are weighing you down. Find freedom in Jesus today.
