As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.

It seemed like the end. This was how the legacy of Jesus would come to a conclusion. Sorrow filled the air…disappointment loomed. A false sense of victory filled the minds of the religious leaders. But Jesus had said…give me three days. In three days I will rebuild this temple. It seemed like the women were expectant…they stayed near the tomb. In fact, they are the first to discover the empty tomb as well. Much like Jesus said He would come back in three days…He also proclaimed He would come back on the last day to gather the saints to Him. I don’t know about you…but knowing He came through on the other…we should be living each day expectant of that return. Be prepared…be ready…be on guard. Jesus is coming back…are you ready?
