Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

This introduction sparked a question in me. How many of you have researched for yourself the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus? How many of you have went your whole life leaning on the words and knowledge of another, never studying for yourself? In my experience…the real power of the resurrection became most evident to me when I read it and studied it for myself. You see, when you read it for yourself there is no middle man…just you and God. There’s nothing wrong with a middle man…but I implore you to consider pursuing those moments between the two of you. It is life changing if you allow it to be.
