Jesus and His disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way He asked them, “Who do people say I am?”
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”
“But what about you?” He asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”
Jesus warmed them not to tell anyone about Him.

We have a heart to heart conversation between Jesus and His disciples. It is here that Jesus brings the elephant in the room out into the open. Peter declares it…Jesus admits it. This is significant because in order for His disciples to take the next step in their faith, they had to understand who He was and what this was all about. They still have work to do…but Jesus is preparing them for the cross that is ahead. He is preparing them for the beginning of the church. God prepares our hearts as well. If we allow Him, He prepares us to love, forgive, be bold, turn away, etc. When we allow God to transform us we become more of His image…that’s a transformation I want to undergo!
