They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him, and they twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand. Then they knelt in front of Him and mocked Him saying, Hail, king of the Jews! They spit on Him, and took the staff and struck Him on the head again and again. Our fear in standing up for the Gospel usually comes from shame and not wanting others to mock us. Jesus literally took on fear and shame so that we could stand up tall in victory as we proclaim the name of Jesus. We don’t have a crucifixion waiting for us…Jesus already paid that debt. We get to live our lives in such a way that everything we say and do is to glorify Him. So why are you afraid? Why are you ashamed? Stand up and be courageous today for the name of Jesus!
